To begin with, Ecuador is located in South America, between Columbia to the north and Peru to the south. To the west lies the Pacific Ocean, and to the East, more Columbia and Peru. Ecuador takes its name because The Equator runs through it. On average, it has about 12 hours of sun per day, and this doesn't change by more than about 12 minutes. Ecuador has the Andes Mountains that run North-South, and the Amazon River. There are also many large protected wild areas that have ample flora and fauna. Ecuador owns The Galapagos.
